Welcome to the
Texas Journal of Rural Health website. Sponsored by the
Office of Rural & Community Health at the Texas Tech University
Health Sciences Center, the
purpose of the Texas Journal of Rural Health
is to provide a forum for sharing ideas related to
rural health. It is the state of Texas'
multidisciplinary contribution to the national debate
on rural health.
identifies rural health problems in the United States
and around the world. It showcases new ideas about
how to improve the health of rural populations,
describes how rural communities have organized to
address local health problems, serves as an
educational tool, reports the results of original
research, and explains how state and federal health
policy is affecting rural health.
One of the ways we
make sure the Journal meets the needs of
rural communities is by seeking the counsel of
authorities in the medical field. The Editorial Board
is comprised of individuals with a variety of
specialties that range from medicine and public
health to business and law.
