This six-week academy is geared for undergraduate students preparing for medical school.
Health professions students in all disciplines are encouraged to incorporate a rural community-based clinical rotation as part of their training. The West Texas AHEC has developed relationships with more than 170 rural physicians across the region, creating opportunities for a wide variety of training experiences for health professions students to pursue.
The Double T Health Service Corps is an organization for students interested in rural and underserved population issues in health care. The organization provides an informal forum for students to enhance their professional development and preparation for a health career as well as leadership in the community to improve community health..
