- Welcome JAMP I students! Those of you that have matched to Texas Tech SOM for the Summer 2008 Internship. We know you will find your stay here to be informative and productive for your premedical career. We have an excellent program for you this year. You can find the curriculum listings for this summer at the bottom of the page.
- You will be living on the Texas Tech campus this summer. The exact housing location is pending. To find out more about Texas Tech campus housing, please visit: click here.
- There is a required on-line TTUHSC Safety Training course that all incoming JAMP students must complete by May 17th, 2008. The instructions and the link are > available here < soon .
2008 Summer Program Timeline:
- Program Check-In: Sunday, May 18, 2008, 1-5pm
- Classes Begin: Monday, May 19, 2008
- Program Ends: Saturday, June 28, 2008
A message for Texas Tech University HSC SOM Mentees
Welcome to our JAMP page mentees! As your medical school/JAMP advisor, I am here to help you in any way I can in your pre-medical process. Mentees are encouraged to:
- Keep in contact with me, drop me a line from time-to-time, or call.
- Participate in all assignments given. These usually come once a semester.
- Be proactive about health care exposure, volunteering in the long-term semesters.
- Stay in touch with respective JAMP Faculty Director (JFD).
- Accurately maintain all contact information. This includes email accounts.
- Yahoo and Hotmail accounts are highly discouraged. You are strongly advised to use your school email accounts. Rememeber, you are 100% responsible for maintaining a current email account.

JAMP Summer I Curriculum (2008)

The Summer I internship at Texas Tech will be very much concentrated on MCAT preparation. However, there are many other events and classes we have planned for this summer.
- MCAT Preparation
- Medical Ethics Sessions (Dept. of Family Practice)
- Technical Writing
- Oral Communication Course
- Basic Medical Equipment, Clinical Professionalism
- Medical Physiology
- Human Gross Anatomy Course
- HIPAA Training
- Formal Academic Advising Sessions
- Tutoring (administered by medical student coordinators, if needed)
