- Welcome and congrats SPA 2008 students! We know you will find your stay here to be informative and productive for your premedical career. We have an excellent program for you this year.
- You will be living on the Texas Tech campus this summer. The exact housing location is pending. To find out more about Texas Tech campus housing, please visit: click here.
- There is a required on-line TTUHSC Safety Training course that all incoming SPA students must complete by May 17th, 2008. The instructions and the link are available here.
2008 Summer Program Timeline:
- Program Check-In: Sunday, May 18, 2008, 1-5pm
- Classes Begin: Monday, May 19, 2008
- Program Ends: Saturday, June 28, 2008

SPA Curriculum (2008)

The SPA at Texas Tech will be very much concentrated on MCAT preparation. However, there are many other events and classes we have planned for this summer.
- MCAT Preparation
- Gross Anatomy (Lecture and Lab)
- Community Caring Activities
- Medical Ethics Sessions (Dept. of Family Practice)
- Technical Writing (Premedical Forum, includes Podcast lectures in Premedical Application information , Gross Anatomy, and Personal Statements)
- Oral Communication Courses
- Basic Medical Equipment, Clinical Professionalism
- Clinical Preceptorships
- HIPAA Training
- Formal Academic Advising Sessions
- Tutoring (administered by medical student coordinators, if needed)
- Round Table Discussions with SOM Dean
- Various, Organized Entertainment/Community Events
