Thank you for your interest in applying to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. In addition to the Main Application Information Form you complete and submit to the Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS), it will be necessary to fill out our Secondary Application specifically for the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. This Secondary Application will provide the Admissions Office and the Dean's Committee additional information pertinent to the complete evaluation of your application.
After completing the Secondary Application and application fee online, submit it electronically. If you have elected to pay by check/money order please send payment to the address posted below, payable to TTUHSC SOM. You will be provided this information again later in the application. Please note that your Secondary Application will not be processed until payment is received.

Please be assured that your TMDSAS Application, combined with your Secondary Application and letters of recommendation, will receive careful consideration by the Committee. It is the policy of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine to review applications for interview consideration only after they are complete, (i.e. all materials – main application, secondary application, letters of evaluation, best MCAT scores from the past 5 years) are on file in the TTUHSC School of Medicine Office of Admissions.
The admissions process at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine Office of Admission is entirely paperless.
As part of this, all of our communications with and from applicants will be paperless. Email notification regarding but not limited to the application, interview invitations, deadlines, reminders, withdrawals, match information, etc. will be sent to you electronically. In the event that an electronic process cannot accommodate an applicant and conventional written communication will be required, please notify our admissions office by mail or telephone. It is solely the applicant's responsibility to provide current and accurate email addresses via a file update at TMDSAS. As some internet services have limited capacity, it is the applicant's responsibility to maintain functional email addresses at all times. It is also important for applicants who have email filters which direct unknown addresses to a “Junk Box” to check in these for communication from the medical school.
As a service to our applicants, it will also be possible to access application status online by means of the account established through the Secondary Application. Please note that your main, TMDSAS application can take approximately 4-5 weeks to arrive in our office following its submission to TMDSAS. Please be patient as we await the arrival your application and supporting documents from Austin.
On a final note, if you are invited for an interview, the formal invitation will be sent to you via email, to the address you indicated in your TMDSAS application. Again, all communication from the Office of Admissions is sent via email: therefore, it is very important that your email address is accurate and functional at all times.
