Summer Premedical Academy Requirements

Grades
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Minimum SAT: 950
- Minimum ACT: 20
Coursework Required
- Minimum credit hours needed to apply: 50
- General Chemistry hours: 4
- Organic Chemistry hours: 4
- Biology hours: 6 - 8 hours
- Physics hours: 4
Other Eligibility Notes
- Texas residency is required.
- Submittal of 3 letters of recommendation (at least 2 should be from professors) sealed and/or sent directly to the Admissions office by the letter writer.
- Post-baccalaureate students are welcomed to apply.
- Completion of the entire SPA application and submission of supporting documents are required in order to be considered for SPA.
Important Dates
- SPA Application period: November 1, 2007 - February 1, 2008.
- Students notified: March 2008
- Academy registration: May 18, 2008
- Academy Start date: May 19, 2008
- Recognition Dinner: June 27, 2008
- Residence Hall check-out: June 28, 2008
