Department of Anesthesiology

The TTUHSC Department of Anesthesiology offers a four-year anesthesiology residency program. The first year is committed to a rotating internship. The next three years, CA-1 through CA-3, are devoted to the practice of clinical anesthesia.
Each anesthesia resident rotates on subspecialty services, including surgical critical care, cardiothoracic, obstetrical, pain management, pediatric, regional and neuro-anesthesia.
We are home to The International Pain Center, one of the premier pain management programs in the country.
TTUHSC is a Level 1 trauma and burn center which affords our residents the opportunity to manage a wide range of different case scenarios. High-risk obstetric anesthesia care is another strength of the program.
Resident s’ clinical experiences are enhanced by the use of multi-disciplinary high fidelity simulation. Texas Tech’s new state-of-the art simulation center is planned to be finished in 2010.
