Cancer Research Symposium 2007
Overview
The Texas Tech Cancer Research Group's 2007 Symposium will feature short talks and poster presentations on all aspects of cancer research from members of the cancer research community from all campuses of TTUHSC, TTU, and UMC. The symposium is open to faculty, postdocs, students, fellows, residents and anyone else who wishes to attend.
The goals of the symposium are to share information about ongoing research projects and to facilitate interactions and collaborations between researchers at TTUHSC, TTU, and UMC.
Funds are available to support transportation and accommodations for researchers from campuses outside Lubbock.

Information
When: Friday, March 30-Saturday March 31
Where: 5th Floor, Wing B, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
Cost: No cost for TTUHSC or TTU faculty, students, post-docs, or residents; limited funding is available to cover travel and lodging costs for faculty from the Amarillo, El Paso, and Odessa campuses.
Lodging: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Townplace Suites, 5310 S. Loop 289

Getting to TownPlace Suites
- Starting from TTUHSC, head west(left) on 4th St.
- Turn left onto West Loop 289
- Take the US-62/US-82 exit toward Brownfield
- Follow the access road past Lowe's. TownPlace Suites should be on the right.

Who should attend?
All individuals with interests in cancer research and education.
Who should present a talk or poster?
Any faculty or staff member, student, post-doc, resident, or other individual who would like to share project results with his or her Texas Tech or UMC peers.
How should I RSVP for the meeting?
You can RSVP online here. To present a talk or a poster, by March 9, send a 250-word abstract for each presentation that you would like to make. Research labs may submit multiple abstracts.
What is the cost of the symposium?
Symposium costs will be covered by funds from the Department of Internal Medicine, TTUHSC-Lubbock and the Southwest Cancer Treatment and Research Center.
How will travel arrangements be made?
Please indicate with your RSVP if you need a hotel room, and one will be reserved for you. If you plan to fly from El Paso, please make your own flight reservations and e-mail Pam Roddy to arrange for reimbursement.
