Ph.D. Programs
The Ph.D. program prepares students for a career in science as an independent scientific investigator. Students conduct exciting research on the forefront of science and make significant discoveries during the course of their study. Upon completion of the Ph.D. requirements, students will earn a doctorate degree and will have been fully trained to conduct research projects in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry in an academic, industrial or governmental position and will be qualified to teach at the college and university level.

Basic Requirements for Completion:
- One year of coursework in Cell and Molecular Biology or Medical Biochemistry Research experience in three different laboratories (three 6-8 week-long rotations)
- Pass Qualifying Examination for admission to candidacy for the Ph.D. degree
- Conduct an original research project in advisor's laboratory and write dissertation
- Dissertation defense

M.S. Programs
The M.S. program prepares students for a career in science as a scientist fully trained in the methods of reasoning, techniques and skills used in modern Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry. Upon completion of the M.S. requirements, students will earn a master's degree and will have been trained to conduct research projects in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry and will be qualified for an exciting scientific career in academia, industry or government.
Degrees offered:
- M.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology
- M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics
- M.S. in Biotechnology
