Upon the completion of this activity the participant should be able to:
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of depression, anxiety and insomnia.
  • Identify situations that would require referral to a mental health professional rather than mangaged entirely in the primary care setting.
  • Apply several approaches to treating garden variety depression, anxiety, and insomnia within the primary care setting.
  • Identify the elements of an adequate antidepressant medication trial ("The Seven A's")
