Upon the completion of this activity the participant should be able to:
  • Describe and discuss the major steps in the basic protocol for ultrasound assessment of the fetal skeletal system
  • Recognize and describe the ultrasound findings most comonly associated with lethal fetal skeletal dysplasias
  • Identify the ultrasound patterns of normal and abnormal fetal skull mineralization and their clinical significance
  • Explain the possible advantages of 3-D ultrasound in the assesment of fetal skeletal dysplasias in the first and second trimesters
