Upon the completion of this activity the participant should be able to:
  • Explain the biopsychosocial framework of HIV
  • Discuss mental health issues caused by or resulting in a vulnerability to HIV infection
  • Recognize that diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues are essential to the physical health and quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS
  • Practice more informed assessments of HIV patients
  • Provide sensitive and objective care to patients with HIV/AIDS
