Upon the completion of this activity the participant should be able to:
  • Describe and discuss the relative advantages and limitations of transvaginal vs transdominal ultrasound imaging of the pelvis
  • List at least three characteristics typically associated with ovarian "dermoid" tumors and how they may help to make diagnosis of an adnexal mass in the proper age group
  • Explain why the coronal-plane image of the uterus from 3D ultrasound data is necessary for proper assesment of uterine develomental anomalies & for determination of proper placement of an intrauterine

  • Identify the proper use of color, power, and pulsed-wave Doppler ultrasound in the assessment of uterine and adnexal masses
