Upon the completion of this activity the participant should be able to:
  • Increase the awareness of high incidence and epidemiology of nosocomial in comparison with community aguired infections and their consequences in terms of prolonged hospital stays and streep increase
  • in health care costs
  • Evaluate how nosocomial infections happen and what each providers role is in their genesis
  • Improve the attitude toward overall toward hygiene in the OR especially hand hygiene, material and equipment handling
  • Explain how isolation measures work and improve compliance in this area
  • Identify guidelines designed to reduce nosocomial infections in SSI, ventilator associated pneumonia, catheter associated infections
