The Preceptor Program
As one of 18 community based Medical Schools, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine relies on community physicians to help train future physicians. More than 100 local, rural community and private practicing physicians are helping meet the training needs of our resident physicians and medical students by playing a vital role in their medical education.
Our preceptors provide unique learning opportunities by teaching and guiding the student's medical and clinical experience and creating an environment where students achieve the physician--patient relationship.Thru it all, physicians get a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment in "giving back".
