Teaching Academy

"Welcome from the President"

The Teaching Academy supports the educational activities in the School of Medicine.  It has developed a peer review tool to provide formative feedback to faculty members presenting lectures, participating in small group discussions, and making clinical rounds.  The Academy also supports educational projects and discussions on curriculum and organization.  The Teaching Academy encourages faculty members with a strong interest in education to apply for membership, solicits requests for peer review of ongoing teaching activities, and will help organize work groups to write White Papers and to develop scholarly projects on medical student education.

Please contact us individually or through the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development with requests.

Mission

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine Teaching Academy has been established as the faculty advocate for teaching excellence.  The Teaching Academy, therefore, will lead both by example and assistance to foster scholarly inquiry and investigation, development of teaching skills, and communication of more effective teaching strategies and policies.
