Plan to attend the 2009 Center for Cardiovascular Disease & Stroke Conference

The 2009 CCDS conference will be held on Thursday, August 20 at the Merket Alumni Center on the Texas Tech campus.  The conference begins with registration and breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and concludes following a networking dinner that begins at 6:00 p.m.  All TTUHSC faculty, students, fellows and staff members with an interest in cardiovascular research are invited to attend, free of charge.  Those interested in making an oral or poster presentation are asked to contact one of the CCDS directors.  Further conference information and links to online registration are available below.  This year's conference is co-sponsored by :

CCDS Grant Support:

On August 28, 2008, the CCDS received notice from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of project funding of $94,352.

On August 31, 2006, the CCDS received notice from HRSA of its project funding extension through August 31, 2007. The $245,516 awarded to TTUHSC includes support for the new and competing renewals for Seed Grant projects awarded in 2005 and 2006, as well as for a Second Annual Cardiovascular Interest Group Progress & Planning Conference to be held in August 2007.

Dr. Steve Berk has provided the CCDS with funding in the amount of $200,000 beginning in the fall of 2007, to be used to fund School of Medicine cardiovascular seed grants and student summer research stipends, as well as for a Third Annual Cardiovascular Interest Group Progress & Planning Conference to be held in August 2008.
