Welcome to the Department of Medical Education
Welcome to the Department of Medical Education (DOME) at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. The Department was established in the fall of 2013 as an academic home for people and programs involved in educating first- and second-year medical students. DOME faculty, both those with primary and joint appointments, are primarily involved in teaching pre-clinical blocks, including basic sciences courses, the Patients, Physicians and Populations (P3)/ Development of Clinical Skills (DOCS) and the Family Medicine Accelerated Track (FMAT).
Among the preliminary goals for our new department are to develop, implement and assess innovation in medical education, offer faculty development and growth opportunities for medical educators, and share expertise in curriculum design, teaching innovation, and evaluation strategies with the entire School of Medicine community.
Please feel free to contact me with questions about DOME as well as your advice and suggestions for the department.
