Neurointerventional Service

Our Neurointerventional Service (also known by many other names including: interventional neurology/neuroradiology, or endovascular neurosurgery) is staffed by fellowship trained neurointerventionalists who use state of the art equipment to perform the full spectrum of neurointerventional procedures.

 

Diagnostic procedures

  • Diagnostic cerebral angiography
  • Diagnostic spinal angiography
  • Petrosal sinus sampling

 

Neurointerventional procedures

  • Acute stroke neurointervention:
    • Endovascular stroke thrombectomy
    • Intra-arterial thrombolysis
  • Aneurysm treatment:
    • Coiling
    • Balloon-assisted coiling
    • Stent-assisted coiling
    • Flow diversion (Pipeline device)
  • Embolization for cerebrovascular & spinal vascular malformations:
    • Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) embolization
    • Dural arteriovenous malformation (DAVF) embolization
    • Carotid-Cavernous Fistula (CCF) embolization
    • Spinal vascular malformation embolization
  • Angioplasty and stenting:
    • Carotid artery stenting
    • Intra-cranial angioplasty and stenting*
    • Vertebral artery stenting*
  • CNS venous procedures:
    • Venous thrombectomy/thrombolysis for Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis
    • Venous sinus stenting
  • Physiologic testing:
    • Balloon Test occlusion
    • Other provocative testing
  • Endovascular treatment of refractory epistaxis
  • Tumor embolization:
    • CNS or meningeal tumor embolization
    • Head and neck tumor embolization
    • Spinal tumor embolization
  • Kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty

 

Conditions we treat

 

Cerebrovascular diseases. Including:

  • Cerebral aneurysms (brain aneurysms)
  • Other brain vascular malformations, such as arteriovenous malformations (AVM), dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) and carotid cavernous fistula (CCF)
  • Various types of Stroke:
    • Ischemic stroke
    • Hemorrhagic stroke
    • Subarachnoid hemorrhage
    • Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis
  • Carotid stenosis (extracranial & intracranial)
  • Intracranial stenosis
  • Vertebral artery stenosis (extracranial & intracranial)
