Kellie Flood-Shaffer, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., Dr. Flood-Shaffer is Assistant
Professor Director of Education Programs and Residency Program Director in
the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Texas Tech University Health
Sciences Center. She joined the faculty August 1, 2001, having previously
served on the faculty of TTUHSC in El Paso from 1991-1997. She is also
Medical Director of Womens Health Care-Dimensions, a Board Member and Secretary ofthe Texas Perinatal Association and servers on the Executive Council for the Texas Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Notre Dame in Cultural Anthropology and is a 1987 graduate of TTUHSC School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1991. While a member of the TTUHSC El Paso Ob/Gyn faculty, she served as Medical Director of Ambulatory Clinics and as the Residency Program Director. From 1997-2001, she was in private practice in Riverside, Illinois and held a Clinical Faculty position with the University of Chicago.
Flood-Shaffer is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has received numerous awards including the prestigious Best Doctors in America. Her professional interests include general obstetrics and gynecology, breastfeeding advocacy, prevention of domestic violence and culturally-sensitive health care delivery. She is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Flood-Shaffer spends her leisure time with her husband and their three children.
