To provide an outstanding educational experience that helps guide residents and medical students towards becoming successful, knowledgeable and compassionate professionals in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery.  We believe the strength of our program originates from our commitment to providing excellent patient care and meaningful research in a supportive learning environment.


About Us


The Texas Tech Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation is an educational department within the Texas Tech University School of Medicine that provides patient care and physician training in affiliation with the University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.  There are several specialty clinics available that allow expert board-certified orthopaedists to evaluate and treat a variety of orthopaedic injuries.  Specialty clinics include: The Adult Reconstruction Clinic that treats patients that are candidates for joint replacement; The Sports Medicine Clinic that treats patients with sports related injuries; The Hand Clinic that treats all injuries up to and including the elbow; The Foot and Ankle Clinic that treats patients with foot and ankle injuries; and the Children's Orthopaedic Clinic that provides treatment for children that includes neuromuscular disorders, clubfoot, hand, congenital and developmental hip disorders, scoliosis, spina bifida, pediatric trauma, fractures and a variety of other orthopaedic conditions.

Graduate Medical Education

The department offers a residency training program in Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
