Description: Texas Tech Physicians of Lubbock provides quality medical care for a variety of orthopaedic conditions through three specialized centers. The Regional Hand Center treats problems with the hand and arm, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Microvascular surgery procedures are also offered. The Sports Med Center handles sports-related injuries, such as shoulder, elbow and knee problems, as well as arthroscopic surgery. The Arthritis and Joint Implant Center provides adult reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder joints, as well as treatment for other arthritis-related conditions. On-site x-ray services are also provided to better assist patients.

Description: The Department of Orthopaedics Adult Reconstruction Clinic treats patients who are candidates for total knee, total hip, and total shoulders replacement as well as patients with benign or malignant bone and soft tissue tumors of the extremities.

Description: The Department of Orthopaedics Sports Medicine Clinic treats sports related injuries. The clinic also treats athletes and monitors their progress and recovery from an injury.

Description: The Children's Orthopaedic Center provides quality care for children's orthopaedic problems, including neuromuscular disorders, clubfoot, hand, congenital and developmental hip disorders, scoliosis, spina bifida, pediatric trauma, fractures and other disorders.

Description: The Foot and Ankle Clinic provides surgical and nonsurgical treatment of injury and deformity below the knee. Typical patients have ankle injuries, bunions, arthritis, muscle contractures or foot fractures. Treatments can range from shoe inserts to complicated surgical reconstruction. Ultrasound imaging is used in the clinic for both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Trauma Service

Hours: Available 24 hours/day
Location: University Medical Center
Appointments: Referral from an Emergency Department

Description: The Department of Orthopaedics Trauma Service treats injuries that result from traumatic events, such as motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents and other extreme disasters. University Medical Center is a Level One Trauma Center.
