Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) offers an Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation residency program that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The residency program integrates the following ACGME core competencies: Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Practice-based Learning and Improvement, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Professionalism and Systems-based Practices. This is a five year program which consists of four years of training in orthopaedic surgery with a rotating internship year.
Three resident applicants are accepted each year for a program totaling fifteen residents. The integrated program in General Orthopaedics consists of rotations in Hand, Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement, Trauma, Spine, Children's Orthopaedics and Foot & Ankle.
Department research is ongoing and opportunities and facilities for individual research are available and strongly encouraged.
The residency program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. The FRIEDA Online program information can be found here.
