APPLICATION PROCESS

If you feel you would like to be a part of this exciting and stimulating program, please apply via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications are only accepted through the ERAS program and the selection process at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center begins only when the application is complete. We accept applications for our residency program beginning September 1 through October 31. The Department Review Committee will review applications, send out interview invitations through ERAS during the first two weeks of November, and offer two interview dates in December. Please note that applications are responsible for ensuring their application file is complete.

 

We accept foreign medical graduates from accredited medical schools. The graduate must have passed their ECFMG and we sponsor J-1 visas. Students and graduated of foreign medical schools should contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

US Graduates

 

  • *Completed ERAS Application
  • *TTUHSC – ERAS Addendum Form (only needed upon invitation for an interview)
  • *Personal Statement
  • *Current Curriculum Vitae (in chronological order and current)
  • *Three Letters of Recommendation
  • *Program Director’s Letter/Certification (if any previous residency training in US)
  • *Dean's Letter
  • *Medical School Transcripts
  • *USMLE and/or COMPLEX Exam Report
  • *Wallet Sized Photograph (Required for verification purposes)

 

International Medical Graduates

    • *Completed ERAS Application
    • *TTUHSC – ERAS Addendum Form (only needed upon invitation for an interview)
    • *Personal Statement
    • *Current Curriculum Vitae (in chronological order and current)
    • *Three Letters of Recommendation
    • *Program Director’s Letter/Certification (if any previous residency training in US)
    • *Dean's Letter
    • *Medical School Transcripts
    • *Notarized copy of diploma (only needed upon invitation for an interview)
    • *Clerkship Affidavit (only needed upon invitation for an interview)
    • *ECFMG Certificate (original needed at interview)
    • *USMLE and/or COMPLEX Exam Report
    • *Wallet Sized Photograph (Required for verification purposes)

 

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine has adoped a policy of accepting only International Medical Graduates with J-1 visas into the residency training programs.
