Division of Health Services Research

Welcome

The mission of the Division is to advance the level of understanding about the health of populations and communtiy, accessibility and quality of health services, particularly in regard to rural, Hispanic, and elderly persons. We seek to improve the health of individuals, families, and community in the west Texas region.

Specific research interests of the faculty members include health disparities, occupational health, health economics, and health promotion and behavior research. In addition to the specific research activities, faculty members in the division collaborates with researchers across the TTUHSC and TTU campuses. We provide assistance in study design, questionnaire design, statistical analysis, and database development and management. Our faculty members have broad expertise in conducting epidemiological surveys, analyzing claims and complex survey data, and evaluation of health programs.

The Division offers a Masters of Science degree program in Health Services Research through the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
