AMPA induces al large delayed increase in intracellular calcium in cerebellar Purkinje neurons. Top panel is before addition of AMPA. Bottom panel is 60 minutes following a 30 minute exposure to 30 micrmolar AMPA. Purkinje neurons (white arrowheads) were loaded with the AM-ester of Fluo-3.
