Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics
Welcome to the Home Page of the Department of Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics, at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Our department consists of an interactive group of faculty, staff, postdoctoral trainees and students. Our central missions are high-quality biomedical research, education of medical and graduate students and service to the School of Medicine, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the Health Sciences Center as a whole. Our main research interest is in cell and molecular physiology and biophysics, in particular membrane protein structure and function, issues of cell physiology such as signaling and imaging, and biomolecular mechanisms of disease processes. The department is the main site of the multidisciplinary Center for Membrane Protein Research, which involves faculty from seven departments at TTUHSC and TTU. The Center has a state-of-the-art Membrane Protein Core Laboratory, available to both the center members and other faculty. Please feel free to explore our graduate teaching, school of medicine teaching, and current research projects of our faulty. I welcome you again and encourage you to contact us if you need additional information.
