Eligibility Requirements
- TTUHSC students always have first priority on all available electives.
- All applicants must be attending an LCME accredited medical school or a school accredited by American Association of College of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM).
- Applications will be accepted anytime, but will not be reviewed until after May 15 for the next academic year due to scheduling all TTUHSC School of Medicine Students first. They will be reviewed in the order of completion in which they are received.
- You should expect to receive notification of your approval within 3 weeks of that date.
- There is no application fee.
- All students applying for a visiting elective must be in their final year of medical school at the time of the requested elective.

To be eligible to take an elective, students must provide us with the following AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION:
- Completed and signed application to the address for the requested campus.
- Health Survey and Immunization History Form and Documentation showing compliance with all immunization requirements as follows: Tetanus/Pertussis/Diphtheria, Measles-Mumps-Rubella, Tuberculin test, Hepatitis B series, Varicella, Rubella, and Rubeola titers.
- Documentation of current personal health insurance coverage.
- Documentation of minimum professional liability coverage of $25,000/$75,000 must be in effect before student can be scheduled for an elective.
- Criminal Background check done and passed.
- HIPPA verification.
- OSHA training-documentation with in last 12 months.
