Personal Interests
I was an electrical engineer for 10 years before attending medical school with a B.S.E.E and M.S.E.E from Univ. of Michigan and Univ. of Maryland. I was fascinated by Cochlear implantation technologies from the beginning and had picked otolaryngology as my interested field of practice. I am board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Otolarylngology-Head and Neck Surgery. My other interests include marathon (Marine Corps, London, Toronto, Chicago completed), piano, jazz and classical music, mountain biking, and flying.

My career goal is to develop a comprehensive department here at Tech. My research interest is in applying mathematical modeling to solving bio-engineering problems, in colloboration with the Math. Dept. at Texas Tech. Other areas of interest to me are: Auditory physiology, IC neuroprosthesis, cochlear implant, brainstem implant, gene therapy, and knowledge-based genetic analysis for microarrays and clinical trials.
