The Commission should be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support the institution's significant non-compliance with a requirement of standard.

School of Nursing Program Accreditation

In July, 1980, the TTUHSC Continuing Nursing Education Program was first accredited by the Western Regional Accrediting Committee of the American Nurses' Association as a provider for continuing education in nursing. That accreditation, now offered through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, remains in effect.

In November 1982, the undergraduate program received full accreditation from the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas and in December 1983, the National League for Nursing granted initial accreditation, which was retroactive prior to the first graduation in June 1983. The graduate program received initial accreditation in March 1992. The School of Nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), contact the CCNE at One Dupont Circle, NW Suite 530, Washington, DC, or call to 202-887-6791, or visit the CCNE website at www.aacn.nche.edu for questions about accreditation of the School of Nursing program. Additionally, the School of Nursing is accredited by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON), contact the BON at 333 Guadalupe #3-460, Austin, Texas 78701, or call 512-305-7400 for questions about accreditation of the School of Nursing program. Additionally, because the actual enrollment of students for the SON was delayed until legislative funding was approved, the SON CNE Program was implemented prior to admission of students. Thus, the initial accreditation achievement was for the CNE Program. The official accreditation statement is:
