MSN Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Program Overview

The Master of Science in Nursing Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program (ACNP) prepares graduates to provide culturally sensitive, comprehensive care for adults with common episodic and chronic health problems managed across the continuum of acute care centers. The ACNP assumes responsibility for promoting, maintaining, and restoring health to adults who are chronically, acutely or critically ill. The ACNP is an online program that requires occasional travel to the Lubbock campus.

A Post-Masters Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate is also available to those who currently hold a Master of Science in Nursing and wish to assume a specialized role in the health care of promoting, maintaining, and restoring health to adults who are chronically, acutely or critically ill.

Upon completion of course requirements, graduates of the Masters and Post Masters Programs are eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam.
