Continuing Nursing Education Program

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Anita Thigpen Perry School of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Program was the first university-based nationally accredited continuing nursing education program in the State of Texas.

Educational activities of the School of Nursing CNE Program include:

Pride in offering quality continuing nursing education and dedicated service to nurses in West Texas and beyond.

Accreditation

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Anita Thigpen Perry School of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education Program is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Personal Order CNE

In 1982, the CNE Program began the Personal Order Service whereby courses were specifically designed and taught on-site for hospitals and agencies in West Texas. This program has been referred to as "CNE on Wheels" and is very beneficial to nursing staff who find it difficult to travel across West Texas to seek their continuing education. Currently, the CNE Program maintains approximately 10 contracts per year:
