Post-Master's Education Certificate
Graduate Department Leadership Program
The Post-Master's Nurse Educator Certificate Program is designed for the master's or doctorally prepared nurse who desires a career in nursing education. Students complete the track via on-line courses and practicum experiences.
Students completing the Post-Master's Nurse Educator Certificate Program in nursing education are able to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum; use technology to strengthen the learning process; and incorporate evidence-based teaching strategies to influence the preparation of today's nursing graduate.
Upon completion of the nursing education certificate, graduates are prepared for educational positions in academic and practice settings. The track prepares graduates to sit for Academic Nurse Educator Certification by the National League for Nursing when practice requirements are met.
The Post-Master's Nurse Educator Certificate Program is completed in 12 semester credit hours with a 112 hour education practicum completed as part of the program requirements. Completion of an online orientation module is also required.
For transcript post-master evaluation, email unofficial/official transcripts to Veronica Sifuentes or Georgina Barrera prior to applying to ensure all applicants are applying to start in the correct semester since some courses may qualify for transfer credit.
