Welcome to the Iota Mu Chapter Home Page. We are part of Region 3 of Sigma Theta Tau International and we are located at Texas Tech Univeristy Health Sciences Center School of Nursing.

As part of Sigma Theta Tau International — Iota Mu Chapter you will join an international community of 260,000 nurses who share scholarly success, clinical experiences and personal integrity through a network of chapters located on nearly 400 college and university campuses. Members put themselves and the nursing profession at the forefront of health care. Together, our members serve as potent agents and catalysts for change throughout the world.

Strategic Goals for 2008-2009
  1. Inform potential candidates of the mission of the society. (Counselors)
  2. Invite eligible candidates into the society May 2008 (BSN, RN to BSN, 2nd Degree, and Community Leaders). (Counselors)
  3. Send two delegates to the STTI House of Delegates. (President)
  4. Send officers/members to leadership development programs. (President)
  5. Have planning committees for planned activities that consist of 2 members other than members of the Board of Directors. (Vice President)
  6. Increase publicity of chapter activities and awards through e-mail and flyers. (Secretary)
  7. Provide at least three STT sponsored scholarly programs (Research/Leadership). (Vice President)
  8. Co-sponsor scholarly programs with other health-related organizations. (Vice President)
  9. Award academic scholarships and research grants. (President)
  10. Mentor new officers/offer transition meeting for new officers. (President)
  11. Participate in local and STTI philanthropic activities. (Treasurer)
