Chancellor's Message
The establishment of a Pharmacy School has been the dream of Panhandle residents for many years. That dream is now realized in the faculty, students and brick and concrete on the Amarillo campus of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. The dream, however, is only truly fulfilled by the provision of quality health care to the Panhandle and West Texas.
The dream was further extended with the School developed clinical campuses in Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, and Lubbock. Now, the Metroplex and all of West Texas has the opportunity to be involved in pharmacy education.
Texas Tech is proud of the contributions of the health care professionals it has already trained, those who have graduated from the Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health.
I would like to offer you this opportunity to make dreams come true. The dreams you hold for yourself as well as those of the people we serve. Join us as a new member of this School of Pharmacy and help wishes and dreams become better health for the people of Texas.
David R. Smith, M.D.
Dean's Message
The Texas Tech School of Pharmacy was a long-term vision of a dedicated group of pharmacists, citizens, and legislators to provide pharmacy education in West Texas.
Today that vision is evident, not only on the horizon of Amarillo as the Texas Tech School of Pharmacy overlooks the Harrington Regional Medical Center, but in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the South Plains of Lubbock, and the Border City of El Paso.
Faculty, staff and, yes, doctoral candidates have come together to provide for the future of pharmacy and patient care. We offer an innovative curriculum. We have progressive teaching methods and technologies that will prepare students for both entry and advanced pharmacy practice, today and for the years to come. I can assure you that you will be intellectually challenged by your courses and patient care experiences at Texas Tech.
I invite you to join in the excitement of the Texas Tech School of Pharmacy. You will partner with other health care professionals to provide patient care. You will make a difference and we want to provide you with the knowledge and skills to make that difference be the very best.
