TTUHSC's Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program employs cutting-edge technology to educate students, yet maintains the time-tested traditions and values associated with the pharmacy profession. Comprehensive classes combined with more hours of clinical training than any pharmacy program in the country ensure that TTUHSC-SOP graduates are prepared for careers in all areas of pharmacy, including community pharmacy and institutional pharmacy practice. Students also have access to advanced training to prepare for specialty practice and research careers.
To help students achieve their educational goals, TTUHSC-SOP offers a plethora of scholarship opportunities. These scholarships are available to all Pharm.D. students and are provided by through endowed scholarship funds and by the combined efforts of local, state and national foundations, professional organizations, pharmaceutical companies, community pharmacies and businesses.
The SOP's Office of Professional Affairs encourages and supports student involvement in community service and outreach programs through various student organizations. The Office works with the Student Leadership Council to coordinate student activities and conduct health screening and outreach programs. These programs provide the general public in all four SOP campus cities with free screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure, glucose and osteoporosis and health information regarding smoking cessation and healthy lifestyles.
