Research Interests

My Reseach Interests are in the area of Molecular Neurochemistry. A long-term project in the lab is to understand the biochemistry of nutrient transporters in brain function. These transporters and their substrates may effect neural disease through effects on neuroinflammation. More recent research in the lab is involved in understanding how nutrient metabolism may effect seizure threshold and risk for seizures in animal models of epilepsy. Member of the Texas Tech Center for Blood-Brain Barrier Research
