| Bio |
Arun Satelli received his Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences degree from G Pulla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Osmania University (India) in July 2005. He then went on to work with Dr. Manetsch at USF to learn various methodologies used in medicinal chemistry. Arun began his studies in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department as a PhD. Student in August 2006. He is currently working with Dr. U S Rao on a project involving Galectin-1 and its role in Cancer.

Education:
B. Pharm., G Pulla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Osmania University (2005)
Research Interests:
Galectins play key roles in the oncogenic processes. Although several galectins are known, their relative expression at the mRNA and protein levels, the subcellular localization, and their relationship to the oncogenic manifestation remains unclear. Arun Satelli is trying to understand the role of galectin-1 and its molecular forms in the oncogenic processes that are necessary to facilitate new strategies for anticancer therapy.
