Dr. Zhang joined the Department of Biomedical Sciences at TTUHSC-SOP in January 2011. His research interests focus on cancerous biology and therapy/prevention of prostate cancer. Androgen receptor plays a crucial role in the development of prostate cancer. Targeting androgen receptor pathway is an important approach to deal with prostate cancer. His research incudes: 1) evaluating the role of the aberrant androgen receptor pathway in prostate cancer; and 2) looking for novel potent natural or synthetic preventive/therapeutic agents against prostate cancer based on the latest finding. Integrated research approaches based on in vitro cell culture models and in vivo preclinical models are included in his studies. |
