| Bio | Dr. Luedtke is one of the founding faculty members of the School of Pharmacy. She is Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice. She is responsible for the professional and career development of students and alumni relations. She also serves as the Director of the Pediatric Specialty Residency program. Dr. Luedtke received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Wisconsin. She completed her practice residency at Meriter Hospital and pediatric specialty residency at the University of Kentucky. |
Research Interests:
Dr. Luedtke is involved in ongoing studies evaluating drug utilization patterns in the neonatal intensive care unit and documentation of clinical pharmacy services for the pediatric population. Dr. Luedtke has given numerous presentations locally and nationally in the areas of immunizations and neonatology and is currently involved in several ongoing studies evaluating clinical pharmacy services for pediatric patients.
Practice Focus:
Dr. Luedtke provides clinical pharmacy services in neonatology and general pediatrics at Northwest Texas Children’s Hospital. Northwest Texas Children’s Hospital is a community based teaching hospital which provides services to a 32 bed neonatal intensive care unit, 12 bed pediatric intensive care unit, and 35 bed general pediatric service. Dr. Luedtke, along with the Pediatric Practice Team, has received state and national awards for her development of PEDS (Pediatric Electronic Documentation System) a universal documentation system utilized to justify pediatric pharmacist positions.
Professional Service:
In addition to her services at the University, Dr. Luedtke has been strongly involved in professional organizations supporting pediatric pharmacotherapy. She has recently served as President for the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group (PPAG) an international, non-profit, volunteer organization of health care providers who strive to improve the lives of children. She has continued her involvement in this organization as the Executive Vice-President of Advocacy. She also serves on the journal advisory board of the Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the editorial board for Annals of Pharmacotherapy.
