Dr. Koffarnus is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy on the Dallas/Fort Worth campus. She facilitates case-based learning in Case Studies III, lectures in the P1 OTC course and Ambulatory Care elective, mentors students for Grand Rounds, and precepts Ambulatory Care clerkships for P3 and P4 students. Dr. Koffarnus also serves as a preceptor for PGY2 Ambulatory Care residents from the VA North Texas Health Care System. Her practice site is at the Fort Worth Outpatient Clinic with the VA North Texas Health Care System. Dr. Koffarnus received her Pharm.D. from St. Louis College of Pharmacy, in St. Louis, Missouri. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy and Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas, and a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Specialty Residency at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and Blackstock Family Health Center in Austin, Texas. In 2011, Dr. Koffarnus joined the faculty of Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy as an Assistant Clinical Professor, where she taught for 2 years. In 2013, she left Auburn to join the Texas Tech faculty on the DFW campus. She was part of the first group of pharmacists to become a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist in 2011.

Research Interests

Dr. Koffarnus’ primary research interests include diabetes management and the improvement of patient care with physician education.
