| Bio | Current Position: Mr. Habeger is Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice and is a founding faculty member, joining the faculty in July 1995. He received his BS Pharmacy degree in 1970 from South Dakota State University and his MBA in 1981 from the University of Puget Sound. He presently serves as Director of Pharmacy Operations, having administrative supervision of two outpatient pharmacies in Amarillo and Lubbock, the TTUHSC Prime Vendor Pharmaceutical Purchasing Program, which purchased $4.4 million of pharmaceuticals in FY 2007 for operations supporting the four TTUHSC campuses, and Managed Health Care Pharmacy Services (MHCPS), which provides clinical and prescription benefit management for over 31,000 offenders housed in 25 facilities of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) in the West Texas sector. His teaching responsibilities include Faculty Team Leader for the P-III Hospital Pharmacy Operations course, the P-III Hospital Clerkship course and the P-IV Advanced Hospital Clerkship course. |

Research Interests:
Mr. Habeger’s research activity is in collaboration with MHCPS faculty in the area of pharmaco-economics and patient care outcomes in managed health care.
Practice Focus:
Mr. Habeger’s practice is concentrated in School of Pharmacy contract responsibilities related to outpatient pharmacies, correctional managed healthcare and pharmaceutical purchasing. He also is a Consultant Pharmacist for Swisher Memorial Hospital in Tulia, Texas.
Professional Service:
Mr. Habeger is a Past-President of the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP) and is a current member of the TSHP Research and Education Foundation Board of Directors, serving as Chairman of the Organizational Review Task Force and Chairman of the Grants program. He has served in many other capacities in support of TSHP and is a Past-President of the Panhandle Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
