| Bio | Dr. Basse is a founding faculty member in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Her current position is as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. She received her Pharm.D. from Creighton University and completed a residency in Pharmacy Practice at High Plains Baptist Hospital or BSA as it is now known. |

Research Interests:
Dr. Basse is interested in outcomes research in the area of managed care. Her current projects include: evaluating the effectiveness of interferon/ribavirin therapy in the correctional care setting and assessing the outcomes of an antipsychotic switch program. Her most recent publication centered on evaluating the effectiveness of a physician-pharmacist collaborative drug therapy management diabetes clinic that she co-developed.
Practice Focus:
Dr. Basse is one of four founding members in the Managed Health Care Pharmacy Services Division. Her practice setting is within the western sector of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) system. She has established clinics under physician supervised protocol in the areas of asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and anticoagulation. Other areas of interest include viral hepatitis and dermatology. Dr. Lenz also provides nonformulary consultations for 30,000 offenders within TDCJ System.
Professional Service:
Dr. Lenz has served on local and state professional organizations. She is a past president of the Panhandle Society of Health System Pharmacists and has served on the board for the Texas Society of Health System Pharmacists (TSHP). She is currently a member of the Educational Affairs Council for TSHP. She has recently been appointed to the ADA High Plains Council and serves as a member of their speaker bureau.
