The School of Pharmacy Continuing Education Program
Overview of Mission, Philosophy and Goals
Mission:
Continuing Pharmaceutical Education exists to serve the educational needs of practicing pharmacists in West Texas. Within the context of the mission of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the mission of the Office of CE is to:
Provide continuing pharmaceutical education opportunities for pharmacists to assist them in maintaining their basic knowledge as well as to learning new advances in comprehensive medication use management enabling them to provide a high quality of patient care.
Ensure the quality of educational programs by adhering to guidelines and standards set forth by The American Council of Pharmaceutical Education, Inc. (ACPE).
Provide a mechanism whereby faculty can report research findings and the impact on the quality of patient care within the structure of an established educational program.
Continuing Pharmaceutical Education Philosophy:
The Office of Continuing Education is dedicated to providing the highest quality of CE programs for faculty, alumni, and members of the pharmaceutical community throughout West Texas.
Continuing Pharmaceutical Education Goals:
The following goals for the Office of Continuing Education are to be pursued during the subsequent decade:
- Strengthen and promote the highest quality continuing pharmaceutical education programs possible.
- Receive and maintain accreditation at the highest level award by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education, Inc. (ACPE).
- Emphasize the high quality of program management and meeting planning capabilities.
Faculty Involvement
Continuing education instruction faculty will be drawn from the faculty of this School, practicing pharmacists, and from other Schools of Pharmacy. Since programming will often be delivered national audiences, faculty will be selected from the national professional community to provide the highest quality programs available.
