- Call to Order
- Dean Nelson called the meeting to order.
- Announcements - Dean Nelson
- Met with Dr. Shu Shum to discuss Poison Center to be located at the SOP.
- May 6, 2003, Amarillo Hospital District Board to vote on concept of move.
- April 21-23, 2003, traveled to Dallas for meetings with pharmacy directors of hospitals in DFW Metroplex and Walgreens representative regarding Dallas 4-year plan. Everyone was extremely supportive of the Texas Tech program.
- Met with Dr. Shu Shum to discuss Poison Center to be located at the SOP.
- Facilities
- Laboratory renovation in the Amarillo SOP basement is one month behind schedule. – David Watson
- Administrative Issues

- Research Days are scheduled for the afternoon of June 2 and June 3 until 4:30 pm – Thomas Thekkumkara
- Three more SOP faculty members will be receiving grants from the American Heart Association and NIH, effective July 1, 2003. – Thomas Thekkumkara
- Pharmacy Operations

- SOP continuing to broaden pharmacy operations. – Roland Patry
- HIPPA web site complete. Employee training for the SOP complete. – Roland Patry
- Health Access Clearing House established in Amarillo. Roland Patry has been asked to participate in program.
- Fiscal Affairs

- Program Development/Visionary Ideas

- Amarillo College pharmacy technician training program possible partnership with the SOP. – Roland Patry
- Planning a faculty development 2-hour session this summer at the SOP. Topics of discussion will be student issues related to professionalism and plagiarism and from a faculty perspective regarding copyright issues. Date has not been set. – Sherry Luedtke
- Regalia memo to students with map and agenda in Lubbock. – Summer Balcer
- Admissions
- Over the past 4years out of the 284 admitted, 83 have come from Metroplex.
- Out of 476 applicants this year, 143 came from the Metroplex. Pre-pharmacy GPA was 3.21. Out of 78 offers extended this year, 24 are from the Metroplex. Pre-pharmacy GPA 3.69.
- Admissions
- Lubbock Clerkship office to have General Orientation on April 25, 2003 – Gary Collins

- Deans’ Council members concurred to appoint Interim Associate Dean for Curriculum from existing SOP faculty members.
