Emeritus
School of Pharmacy Emeritus Appointments (Proposed)
Policy:
The Dean, through recommendations from the Faculty Affairs Committee, can annually recommend to the President emeritus appointments. The Dean will forward to the President recommendations by January 2.
Emeritus Appointments:
- The title "Emeritus" may be conferred as a recognition for long and faithful service to the School of Pharmacy.
- Members of the faculty with the rank of Professor or Associate Professor at retirement may be given emeritus appointment, provided they have completed at least ten years of services with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center- School of Pharmacy (TTUHSC-SOP).
- Emeritus appointments are strictly honorary and without stipend.
- Each such appointment shall be subject to approval by the Board of Regents upon recommendation by Dean, President, and Chancellor.
- Faculty receiving an "Emeritus" appointment may have office space and parking space from TTUHSC-SOP. Emeritus faculty will receive all normal faculty correspondence.
Procedures:
- Any School of Pharmacy faculty member may make recommendations to the Faculty Affairs Committee on "Emeritus" appointments. The nominator should include a letter with the reasons why the faculty member should receive an "Emeritus" appointment.
- The Faculty Affairs Committee will follow the same time line as the normal promotion/tenure process.
- Nominations for "Emeritus" appointments may be made anytime after a faculty member has announced their retirement.
