- I. ACPE Self Study document
- Document just needs minor modifications and will be sent to Jo Long. Italicize statements that summarize the committee’s response to questions. Attach new faculty orientation itinerary as appendix.
- Thanks to Mark and Carolyn for their assistance with preparation of the document.
- Will await further instruction from ACPE Self Study Committee
- 2005 Summer retreat
- Agenda
- To be determined after speaker confirmed
- First contact, Barbara Brandt unable to participate. Awaiting answer from Diane Beck. Will continue down the list of names of potential speakers and finalize agenda at that point
- Need to begin arranging for free-time activities (golf, etc)
- Need to get final number of how many plan to attend
- Programming
- Present Education Scholar program to group to try to increase participation
- Have those who have completed modules discuss how they were helpful
- Evaluation
- Need to evaluate this retreat
- Will begin developing evaluation forms in March or April
- Agenda
- Peer Review Program
- After clarification from the Dean, the FD committee will not be restructuring the peer evaluation process.
- We need to provide faculty development opportunities on how to evaluate & provide constructive criticism to others, including peers, students, etc.
- Will try to do at least 2 hour sessions on this. Will wait until Fall semester due to number of things going on this semester.
- Mark will look into programs that may be available for us to post on the website
- Jim Stoll and Ralph Altieri (University of Colorado) may be helpful in helping find materials and/or providing seminars
- Education Scholars Program (Michelle)
- Still not much activity
- Michelle will remind everyone who is enrolled to complete a module
- We have this year’s license until December 2005
- Michelle will present Education Scholar demonstration at retreat
- Update on website (Fakhrul)
- Fakhrul to check with Garry on number of responses to survey. If > 40, will go ahead and analyze. If < 40, will send reminder e-mail.
- Fakhrul to work with Garry to make sure we have a website we can build on
- When results of survey analyzed, will prioritize items to begin to include on website
- Other items
- Michelle will ask Patrick to provide 2nd teaching seminar this semester. Try for April (after assessment) during lunch hour. Is there any money available for refreshments?
