MEETING OF 9/12/01
Present at meeting were Drs. Mark Haase, Robert Supernaw, Michelle Condren, Jim Stoll, Thomas Thekkumkara and Craig Cox attended via conference call.
Copies of Ability Statements tested in 2000 and 2001 were distributed to committee members. Copies of the revised Tech's Top Ten which is now Tech's Top Seven were distributed to committee members and each subgroup leader was asked to pick the four ability statements under each level to be tested in 2002 and turn those into Candy by Friday 9/15. It was suggested that the sub group leaders assign ability statements and levels of questions to be written by each faculty assigned to their subgroup. Each faculty should write five questions for their assigned ability statement. We would like to have those questions turned in to the office of Assessment of Learning in one week. That gives each faculty one week to write five questions. The subgroup leaders do not need to worry about formatting just clearly label who is writing what statements and turn them into Candy and she will take care of the formatting. The subgroup leaders need to make sure the question is written for the proper ability statement assigned. Subgroup leaders may refer faculty to the Assessment Web Page where the new list of Tech's Top Seven Candidate Ability Statements have been posted. Quentin Smith and Reza Mehvar have offered to assist with writing questions should we need them in case faculty choose not to participate. Each faculty subgroup leader should have their subgroup questions tagged and turned in to Candy by October 3.
The meeting was adjourned. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be October 10, 2001.
