Click here to view accepted course matrix by College/University (partial listing of schools) – Prerequisites accepted from any regionally accredited U.S. College or University.

Note: Prerequisites and the taking of the PCAT do not have to be completed prior to submitting and finalizing an application, and a bachelor's degree is not required. Refer to "Important Dates" for specific deadlines for the completion of prerequisites. The online application does not have to be completed in one setting. You may update your application as necessary until you finalize your application. After you finalize and once your fee is received with the signature page and oath of residency, you may return to your application as often as you like to check the status of your entire application process including the receipt of each Letter of Recommendation and transcript. Your application status will not be updated online until your application has been finalized and your application fee has been received.

Students making application should have completed, or expect to complete at least two full academic years of pre-pharmacy before entering the PharmD program in the fall semester. A bachelor's degree is not required. Courses will vary somewhat, based on the curriculum offered at various schools. General requirements are as follows:

If you have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the United States prior to enrolling in the School of Pharmacy, you are exempt from the English and Humanities/Social Sciences requirements.

*Used in the pre-pharmacy GPA calculation.
**Humanities/Social Sciences: Courses may be selected from any mix of Anthropology, Communications (excluding Public Speaking prerequisite), Economics (excluding Economics prerequisite), Ethnic Studies, Family Living/Human Development, Geography, History, Journalism, Philosophy, Political Science (Government), Psychology, and Sociology. –– Note: Performing and Fine Arts (including Music), Physical Education, Foreign Languages, Religion, Computers or similar courses will not meet this requirement. Prerequisite groupings for Humanities/Social Sciences, e.g., 6 hours of history and 6 hours of government, are not required at the TTUHSC School of Pharmacy.

Note: You do not have to apply to Texas Tech University in addition to applying to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy. Also, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), CLEP, and Dual Credit are accepted if on your transcript from an accredited U.S. college or university.

Grade Point Average

Your application will be assessed on the following criteria. To be eligible for review, each applicant must have an adjusted grade point average (GPA) of 3 on a 4 point scale on prior academic courses. Your adjusted GPA is calculated by considering only the last grade received for each course taken, multiplied by the number of semester credit hours (SCH), using the following scale:

A = 4.0 x #SCH = Grade Points

B = 3.0 x #SCH = Grade Points

C = 2.0 x #SCH = Grade Points

D = 1.0 x #SCH = Grade Points

F = 0.0 x #SCH = Grade Points

Grade Point Average = Sum of the Grade Points/Total #SCH
