My name is Sylvia Montes and I have been working at Texas Tech University Health Sciences
Center in El Paso for 9 years. I have learned so much working for this institution
and am grateful for the opportunities to learn more as I grow here. I have also learned
a lot from being in the Staff Senate for two years now and hope to be chosen again
for a second term to be able to help the staff with any question and/or concerns that
may arise. I would like to be able to do more and finish a lot of the work that is
put into encouraging staff members to make the campus an all-around fun working environment.
I have a new perspective on working with all kinds of different people and I would
like to be able to help in any way that I can. After having served in the staff senate
I enjoyed the charity work that we have been doing to help the Children’s Hospital
with the Toy Drive and seeing all of the kids’ faces light up with excitement and
all of the contests that we put together and to be able to get out there in the lobbies
and meet all kinds of different people.
